Dry cleaners in the U.S. are a pretty horrid bunch if you think about it from the planet’s point of view. Approximately 85% of all dry cleaners use a volatile organic compound (VOC) called perchloroethylene. I recently posted a review of an eco-friendly laundry detergent, Vaska herbatergent. In said review, I noted that I liked the detergent as much as my regular favorite, Biokleen detergent, but that the cons were no animal testing policy, low availability, and no powder (which could help cut down on packaging). I’m a die hard Biokleen detergent users, but I’m always willing to try something new. Options are good. Today a review of Vaska’s herbatergent. PRODUCTS: Vaska’s herbatergent (unscented) from Vaska USES: Washing clothing; suitable for adult and baby clothing. High efficiency friendly. NO! Not only is bleach extremely harmful for the planet, but bleach can contribute to a toxic home. Worst of all, bleach is extremely dangerious for humans.
